Following the death of former Apple Chairman Steve Jobs in California on Wednesday, fans in Tokyo are planning an unusual tribute at a candlelight vigil with a twist.
The sunset event -- due to take place today, Thursday, at 5:19 p.m. in front of the Apple Store in Ginza -- will be illuminated not by actual candles, but by the screens of iPhones, iPads and iPods running a virtual candle application.

Organizer Steve Nagata, a Tokyo-based Apple fan, told us how the idea came to him.
?It was just a whim to do it at the Apple Store at sunset, so I tweeted it out right away,? he explained.
